Computer Literacy for Windows XP: This class is the place to start for all people interested in learning about computers. You will learn the basics of computer hardware and software, in addition to the basics of word processing, spreadsheets and database management. Windows XP will be introduced and much time will be given to “hands-on” use. Office 2007 may be covered briefly. No prior computer experience is necessary. Book will be purchased on first night of class.

General Clerical Office Support: Whether you are seeking full/part time employment, supplemental income/efficiency while attending school, or interested in establishing clerical skills and techniques, clerical assistants are in demand everywhere and the profession offers a wide variety of occupations in which to work. This hands-on job training program will blend concepts and practical application, preparing the student for opportunities in a clerical setting. The course will focus on effectively utilizing Microsoft Word/Excel, exercising technical skills valued in the workplace and providing presentation planning for the job search (if desired). The course will include, but is not limited to typing proficiency, filing, telephone systems, office machines, customer service, e-mail, career planning, resume/cover letter writing, and interview techniques. Experience is not required and a certificate of completion may be received if requested. Book will be purchased on first night of class.

Introduction to Microsoft Office 2007: For those who want an introduction to all the office applications, this is the course. The student will learn the basics of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and Microsoft PowerPoint on the latest version of Microsoft Office. This course will serve as a “Quick Start” to some of the most popular computer applications. Computer Literacy for Windows XP or equivalent experience is recommended but not required. Students may have the opportunity to become certified for an additional fee. Book will be purchased on first night of class.
